Workshops
This section provides an overview of our course offer. Our workshops are aimed to support you with your career development and include a range of topics from presentation skills to being strategic about your career.

Research in practice
Research in practice is aimed at all staff working on a research project, including academic staff currently holding, or planning to apply for research funding. This programme practically supports teams in the way that they do research by offering a combination of focused information sessions and more in-depth development workshops.

Bristol Clear 1:1s
The coaching-style 1:1s are provided for research staff on Pathway 2, to give you the opportunity to review your career options; whether you're considering a future within, or outside of academia.

Mentoring
By joining the Bristol Clear Mentoring Scheme you will be matched with a mentor outside of your disciplinary area, who will help you to develop your career here, or into your next position.

10 days professional development
Did you know that as an academic member of staff at Bristol you have 10 days' professional development time pro rata per year?
Speak to your line manager/PI to discuss how you can make best use of this development time to plan your career.

Career guidance for former UoB students
If you are now a member of research staff, but were a student of the University of Bristol, then you can access the University's career guidance provision for up to three years after you graduate.
