Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)

Once you have firmly accepted an unconditional offer to study at Bristol and have sent us your passport details via your applicant dashboard, we will email you a Certificate for Acceptance of Studies (CAS).

A CAS is a unique electronic reference number and accompanying electronic virtual document containing information about your course of study, as well as your personal details. It is not a paper document.

Applying for your visa

You must enter your CAS number on your visa application form. Having a CAS does not guarantee your application will be successful; you must still meet all the other eligibility criteria.

If you notice any errors in the information contained in your CAS, contact our visa team before making a visa application.

Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS)

Your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) will indicate whether you require ATAS clearance. Find out more about how to apply for ATAS clearance.
