Pure and Researchfish Interoperability

There is a publications and datasets upload service for Researchfish. Researchers are encouraged to create relations in Pure between their publications/datasets and projects. These relations are uploaded to Researchfish ahead of each February/March submission period.

Background

Researchfish is the system that the UK Research Councils and other major funders use to gather feedback from funded researchers about the outcomes from their work. The system is provided by Researchfish and Interfolio Ltd

Both UKRI and other funders have a responsibility to demonstrate the value and impact of research and training supported through public and charitable funding.  Funders use information that researchers provide on the outputs, outcomes and impact (subsequently referred to as ‘outcomes’) of their funded projects to report to, and engage with, both the Government and the public.

Researchfish was previously used by MRC and STFC and others, while AHRC, BBSRC, EPSRC, ESRC and NERC used a system called ROS (Research Outcomes System), which closed in April 2014. As part of the move to Researchfish, the UK Research Councils harmonised on a single framework called the Common Question Set, which covers outcome types for all disciplines. Additionally, most major UK funders also adhere to the UKRI and multi-funder submission period dates (although some funders do need to collect information outside of this window).
