Mechanisms of Disease

Overview

By understanding the causes and development of disease, we open new avenues for prevention, treatment and eradication. Investigators in the School study underlying mechanisms for a range of diseases in order to chart the molecular, cellular, and systems-level alterations that occur in these conditions.

  • Cardiovascular disorders such as hypertension, arrhythmia and stroke.
  • Neurological and psychiatric conditions including epilepsy, schizophrenia, depression, dementia, and chronic pain.
  • Renal and urinary tract disorders.
  • Cystic Fibrosis.
  • Osteoarthritis and osteoporosis.
