Press release issued: 29 April 2022

More than 70 employers are coming to Bristol next week for the University of Bristol’s first in-person careers fair since 2019.

Setting up stall in the Bristol Beacon on Wednesday (4 May) afternoon are organisations from industries as varied as engineering, law, finance and sustainability.

Small and medium sized local companies will rub shoulders with internationally recognized brands, such as Rolls-Royce, HMRC and Aldi.

The Get Hired! careers fair, run by the University’s Careers Service, comes just weeks after an influential report found that Bristol graduates were the third most targeted by top employers.

Around 1,200 students and recent graduates have already signed up. The fair is sponsored by Outlook EnergyNMI and AlphaSights.

The event will include a LinkedIn photobooth where students can get professional headshots, free Bambalan vouchers and a drop-in service with the Careers Service, where students can get CV advice, career ideas and the latest info on job and internship vacancies.

There will be an Early Access preparation station from 11:15 am to 12 noon to help students make the most of the day. From 3pm to 4pm there will be a ‘quiet hour’ for those who want a more relaxed experience.

Stuart Johnson, Director of the Careers Service, said: “We cannot wait to welcome students and employers back to our in-person careers fair.

“Bristol students have always been in high demand and never more so than now. The Get Hired! careers fair is a chance for students and recent graduates to talk to industry professionals, get all-important advice on their next steps and even get their foot in the door with their dream business.”

The University of Bristol’s Get Hired! careers fair runs from 12.30pm to 4pm on Wednesday 4 May at Bristol Beacon (previously known as Colston Hall). It can be found at Trenchard Street, Bristol, BS1 5AR.
