22 June 2017

The Journal of Gender-Based Violence is the first international journal based in Europe to showcase the work of scholars across disciplinary and topic boundaries.

Published by the University of Bristol’s Centre for Gender and Violence Research and Policy Press, the journal documents the experiences of victims and survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and explores the complex social structures, inequalities and gender norms through which GBV is produced and sustained.

Marianne Hester, Chair in Gender, Violence & International Policy, said: “We recognise that there is a need to celebrate the many advances made with regard to gender-based violence. Our intention is to showcase contributions both from well-established and emerging scholars, postgraduate students and guest commentaries from speakers outside of academia.”

The new issue of Journal of Gender-Based Violence (Volume 1, number 1) is now available and can be read for free until 30 June.

To keep up to date sign up to the journal newsletter and follow the journal on Twitter @JGBVjournal.
