Bristol retains HR Excellence in Research Award

7 February 2017

The University of Bristol has successfully retained its HR Excellence in Research Award, after being externally evaluated through the Vitae programme.

The Award, bestowed by the European Commission, recognises the university's long-term commitment to improving the working conditions and career development of its research staff.

Bristol is one of 12 UK universities to have retained the Award after being evaluated as part of their six-year reviews.

This brings the total number of UK institutions who have undertaken and retained the Award to 98, more than double the number of any other country in Europe, out of a total of 300 worldwide.
