Dr Nandy wins CROP Prize for poverty research

Dr Shailen Nandy in the Centre for the Study of Poverty and Social Justice is the joint winner of the Comparative Research Programme on Poverty (CROP) International Studies in Poverty Prize 2014.

The prize, in association with Zed Books, is awarded annually to outstanding monographs contributing to research on global poverty eradication or prevention.

Dr Nandy’s winning submission, An Analysis of Changes in Child Poverty in the Developing World, Shailen looks at how child poverty, measured as deprivation of basic needs in the spirit of Peter Townsend, changed between 1995 and 2000.
