A forthcoming book by Dr Dorothy Rowe, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Historical Studies, has been awarded a prestigious College Art Association of America (CAA) Millard Meiss Publication Grant.

After Dada: Marta Hegemann and the Cologne Avant-Garde is the first fruit of a two-year Leverhulme Research Fellowship in which Dr Rowe researched women artists and photographers in Weimar Germany.

The CAA awards publication grants (made possible by a bequest from the late Professor Millard Meiss) to support the publication of scholarly books in art history and related fields. The grant, one of 11 given this year, is awarded to the publisher (in Dr Rowe’s case, Manchester University Press), and goes towards the book’s production costs.
