UNIVERSITY OF BRISTOL
Become a silver surfer in a day

Are you retired and keen to find out how to use the Internet in a day? Bristol University has places available on its one-day course on 'The Internet for Retired Beginners' this Saturday, December 1.

Many people are staying in touch with family and friends or researching family history using the Internet. The course will show learners the advantages of the Internet and explain how to connect and how to explore.

The course is taught by an experienced trainer and is planned to give learners as much hands-on practical experience as possible. The one-day course, held in the University's Computer Centre, Tyndall Avenue, runs from 10 am to 4.30 pm and costs £55.

To get the most from the course, learners will need a basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Windows.

Simon Cox, the Adult Education Project Manager for Bristol University's Institute for Learning and Research Technology, said: 'There is a continuing demand from the public for courses of this kind. We aim to make them instructive, fun and outstandingly good value.'
