Health Professions Education
The Health Professions Education programmes (formerly TLHP - Teaching and Learning for Health Professionals) provide current evidence based theoretical knowledge and practical skills, for those wishing to develop their educational expertise within their health profession context.
The Health Professions Education (HPE) offers Master's level programmes; supporting the staged delivery the Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and MSc study. The MSc pathway is also offered as a Distance Learning option over 1 or 2 years.
The programme prides itself on the range of health professions who attend and achieve the qualifications. The multi professional learning environment of HPE offers our students great insight and knowledge of teaching and learning in different healthcare contexts.
The faculty have a wide range of qualifications in education and expertise in teaching in further and higher education. This includes lecturers with clinical, social sciences and business backgrounds.
Programme structure
The 60-credit certificate can be completed in one or two years part-time. Following completion of the certificate, the 60-credit diploma can be achieved over one or two years part-time. On completion of 120 credits, progression to the 60-credit MSc dissertation is allowed. Alternatively, all 180 credits can be attained through studying full-time for one year, including through a Distance Learning option.
