| Areas of expertise | I am interested in understanding climate processes and their impacts though the use of numerical models. My research focuses on modelling: -future changes in the Antarctic sheet in a world with elevated CO2. -the inter-continental transport of desert dust. -the dynamic response of vegetation cover to the changes in the climate. I am currently working with the ice2sea project. This is an EU project which aims to provide a range of estimates for sea level rise for the next 200 years. My role in this project is to use the GLIMMER community ice sheet model to predict future changes in the Antarctic ice sheet. This work will contribute to an ice sheet model inter-comparison. The inter-comparison will collate the results of similar modelling studies on Antarctica and Greenland by groups within ice2sea, to provide a range of estimates for sea level rise. |
