| Areas of expertise | My interest lies in the ways that endogenous/exogenous environmental factors can interact with genetic material and modulate the cellular response. I currently investigate the role of the Wnt gene signalling pathways in vascular disease (intimal thickening), in particular in smooth muscle cells' proliferation. Previously, I have looked into the effects that hip replacement implant materials may have on human cells in vitro, focusing on heritable changes. I have also studied genetic defects (haploinsufficiency of a nuclear RNA-binding protein) as a cause of male infertility. |
