The inclusion of children and young people who experience social, emotional and behavioural difficulties in educational settings, Special and Inclusive Education, The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of teachers and teacher learning, The social and emotional aspects of learning, and Writing as a method of inquiry

My research and publications have mainly been in the field of Special and Inclusive Education, with a specific focus on the inclusion of pupils who experience Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD). I am currently engaged in doctoral-research exploring the ways that teachers learn to teach pupils who experience SEBD. In addition to PhD research I have been involved in a number of research projects, including commissioned research for a Local Authority in the South West, small-scale internally funded projects investigating the implementation of government materials in schools, and a collaborative project with schools and teacher researchers, attracting funding from the DCSF.
