Critically evaluating sources

5 April 2023, 3.00 PM - 5 April 2023, 4.00 PM

Online

We all want to be sure that the literature we cite in an essay is of the appropriate quality. But what are the quickest and most reliable ways of telling?

In this online session you'll learn how to critically evaluate the texts you find, ensuring that they meet scholarly standards. We'll look at where our sources come from and how the arguments in them are supported, so that we can make an informed judgment regarding their integrity. As a result, you should be better able to engage with the texts you then decide to use.

This session is intended for undergraduate students from the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Social Sciences and Law.

The workshop will take place on Microsoft Teams. A link to the session will be sent out via email when you register for a ticket.
