The Centre for International Law will be holding the next session in its International Law in Practice series, where the Centre invites international law practitioners to discuss and reflect on their experiences.  

On Tuesday 6th December we will be joined by Amy Sander, barrister at Essex Court Chambers. Amy will be discussing her thoughts on the international law Bar, challenges and benefits to working at the Bar as an international lawyer, and reflecting on issues facing international law barristers today.

Speaker 
Amy specialises in public international law (PIL) and is a member of the United Kingdom Attorney General’s Specialist PIL Panel of Junior Counsel. She has appeared before the International Court of Justice in numerous cases (representing the Republic of Cyprus, Russia, Japan, Bolivia and Kenya), and acted in various UNCLOS proceedings. Amy is recommended in the UK Legal Directories as a leading junior for PIL (Chambers and Partners and Legal 500). She is additionally a member of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law Advisory Panel, a Board Member of the Young Public International Law Group, a project member of the European Legal Institute project on Climate Justice, and is co-author of the fourth edition of Law of the Sea (Churchill, Lowe & Sander: 2022).
