Early Life Adversity and Child Maltreatment Network Meeting
25 June 2018
On Friday 1st June, a small group got together at Engineer's House to discuss childhood adversity/maltreatment research using cohort data.
The workshop was hosted by Dr Laura Howe at Engineer's House, and was a way to get a small group together to talk about ways of advancing research in the area of children adversity/maltreatment, whilst using cohort data.
The following ways were discussed:
Pooling data to give enough statistical power to study rare adversities / interactions between adversities and socioeconomic/other factors
Approaches to defining and measuring adversities
Pooling data in an ‘accelerated cohort’ design or similar to piece together different parts of the life course from different cohorts
