Independent Review on Poverty and Life Chances

The final report of the Independent Review on Poverty and Life Chances (PDF, 1,446kB), conducted by Frank Field, was published on December 3rd 2010. The report sets out a new approach to meeting the Government’s target of abolishing child poverty.

As part of the review process the report team considered a wide range of evidence including academic and government reports, national statistics, analytical papers, consultation responses, and oral evidence from experts and practitioners. The report draws heavily on numerous pieces of work conducted by  members of the IFSOCCA team.

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation responded to the Independent Review in January 2011.  Paul Gregg formed part of the consultation team. Response to the UK Government’s Tackling Child Poverty and Improving Life Chances: Consulting on a New Approach (PDF, 233kB).
