2021: The first year of the next century of Geography at the University of Bristol

The School planned a host of events for 2020 to mark this milestone, celebrate our achievements, and look to the future.  As a result of the pandemic, we have extended our period of celebration into 2021.

Plaques for the Haggett and Hepple lecture theatres

Unveiling of plaques honouring the contributions to the School by Professor Peter Haggett and Professor Leslie Hepple. 

Brycgstowe Magazine

GeogSoc are producing a Centenary edition of the Brycgstowe Magazine.   It would be great to see content emerge from past students.  Please get in contact with David Richards for GeogSoc contact details.

Centenary PhD bursaries

The School awarded two Centenary PhD bursaries, one in Physical Geography and one in Human Geography.

Centenary mural

LucasAntics completed the first part of the Centenary mural in July 2022. Details can be found on the University's Instagram account and a launch event will take place in late 2022.
