PGCE bursaries and scholarships

Generous tax-free bursaries and scholarships are available from the UK government for graduates training to be a teacher on the Postgraduate Certificate for Education (PGCE) course.

Tax-free bursaries and scholarships are available for trainees on eligible PGCE courses in England. Students with a 2:1 or above can apply for a scholarship which is paid instead of the bursary. Amounts will vary depending on teaching subject.

Eligibility

PGCE bursaries or scholarships are available for the majority of courses at the University.

How to apply

Bursaries and scholarships are available for trainees on eligible postgraduate courses in England.

In addition to the bursaries and scholarships, PGCE students are also eligible to apply for government loans for tuition fees and living costs from their regional funding provider.

Deadline

Applications for the following academic year open in the autumn.
