The southwest boasts
an extensive history in creative media production, technology and research, and this pioneering program will build upon these strengths through the provision of collaborative R&D facilities, innovative R&D projects, and increased knowledge and skillsThe program will generate networks between academic institutions and the creative industries, building on a strong foundation of research and creative excellence.
 MyWorld
is an innovative southwest based creative hub, led by the University of Bristol, which will position the region as world leaders in screen-based mediaThe five-year program has been awarded £30 million by the UKRI (UK Research Innovation) Strength in Places fund with an additional £16 million committed from industry and academic partners. It is envisaged that the project, which will create more than 700 jobs, will generate economic growth and investment in the region.

  • Network SlicingResearchers will develop a media-aware network slicing solution which offer different, guaranteed levels of performance.

This interdisciplinary project brings together many partners, including: the University of Bath, University of the West of England, Bath Spa University, BBC, British Telecom, Digital Catapult, Aardman Animations, Bristol Old Vic and Theatre Royal Trust, Watershed Arts Trust, Burrell Durrant Hifle Design and Direction, Esprit Film and Television, Opposable Games, BMT Defence Services, Ultrahaptics, Motion Impossible, John Downer Productions, Zubr Virtual Reality, Mustang Films, Limina Immersive, Films At 59, Rocketmakers, Knowle West Media Centre, Complete Control (UK), Nulight Studios, Engine Shed, Bristol Games Hub, and Silverback Films.
