International students

Every year we welcome students to the School from around the world. Our international, EU and Erasmus students are important to our community. We do our best to make the School a friendly and fun place to study no matter where you are from.

BESIG - Bristol Earth Sciences International Group

‌BESIG brings together students from all nations to socialise (with non-alcoholic options included). Students can share their cultures as well as discussing science. BESIG is open to all students, from first-years to PhDs.

BESIG includes:

- guidance and tutoring
- social events including an international tea party and Christmas meal
- mentoring system for new students to help them feel at home in the School and in Bristol

All are welcome!

The Earth Sciences staff welcomed us very warmly and made sure the international students weren’t struggling with understanding the lecture material.

Cindy Lim Shin Yee (BSc Geophysics), International student

It was scary at first but after getting to meet the amazing staff and my classmates they helped me feel right at home and have made it an experience of a lifetime.

Kaelin Holloway (MSci Environmental Geoscience), International student

The University offers helpful services, and life in Bristol is entertaining. I strongly recommend anyone who considers studying Earth sciences to join us at the University of Bristol.
