The Chamber of Demonstrations

The Chamber of Demonstrations is an interactive DVD documenting the research of Martin White, Professor of Theatre at the University of Bristol, into original practices in the Jacobean Indoor Playhouse. The project was funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and produced with the support of PARIP, an AHRC-funded project on documenting performance as research.

The Chamber of Demonstrations is a unique document, filmed and authored by Ignition Films, which contains footage of theatre performance from 4 different audience perspectives. The DVD user can change their viewing position in real time by using the angle function of thir DVD control. There is also a wide range of supporting documentary material.
