Check and update your passport and visa with the University
If your nationality indicates that you are subject to immigration control we are required to hold copies of your most recent visas and passports, to make sure they meets UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) requirements and that you have the Right to Study in the UK.

- If your course requires an ATAS certificate (http://www.bristol.ac.uk/directory/visas/atas/) and you have one, you can find the details here.

If any of the details are incorrect
Right to Study check
- If your record shows you have not completed the Right to Study check, please check this link which will explain what you need to do https://www.bristol.ac.uk/students/new/before-you-arrive/register/right-to-study-check/
Passport or visa details
- If you are a new student and are due to attend a right-to-study check, Your passport and/or visa details will be updated when you come to your Right to Study check and we check and scan your documents. It does not matter that the passport/visa number is your old passport/visa number before you attend your right-to-study check.
- If you get a new passport after you have completed your right-to-study check (e.g. at a later time in the academic year), please send a copy of your passport and/or visa to svs-reg@bristol.ac.uk and we can update the information. If you are sending a copy of your BRP card, please send the front and back of the card.
- If your digital immigration status is missing or incorrect, please visit https://www.gov.uk/view-prove-immigration-status and generate a Share Code - please ensure the code starts with the letter 'S' as this is type of code we need. Once you have the Share Code please email svs-reg@bristol.ac.uk with the code, your Date of Birth and your Bristol student number.
- If your visa expiry date says 31st/Dec/2024 please do not email us to have this corrected. This is the date reflected on your BRP card. In the future there will be communication on how to amend this, however this is likely to be early 2024.
ATAS

Nationality
- If your nationality is incorrect, please email your passport to svs-reg@bristol.ac.uk and we can update this.
