Tortoises

Tortoises are of the order Testudines and the Veterinary Collection boasts probably the largest collection of anatomical dissections and osteological preparations in the country, if not the world. The collection is used to teach anatomy to veterinary students, and is on display in the corridors of the Pre-Clinical Veterinary School on Southwell Street. For several years the collection has been loaned to the annual National Chelonia Society conference.
