Theatre ticket stub

The Princes Theatre was located on Park Row, Bristol. It opened in 1867 and soon became one of the most renowned pantomime houses in the country. However the theatre did not survive the Second World War. Bristol was the fifth most heavily bombed city in Britain, and on Sunday 24 November 1940, the Prince’s Theatre was completely destroyed by an air-raid. This ticket stub, dated 23 November 1940 is from the penultimate performance at the Prince’s Theatre.
