Why did you choose Bristol for your BSc?

“After not getting into the course I’d applied to, the university I would attend became very important to me. I wanted to attend a reputable university in a city where I could enjoy a rich, diverse student life and I felt that as soon as I visited Bristol. The city is incredibly unique and has an atmosphere that feels like home even when you’re 153 miles away.”

How would you sum up your experience?

“Studying BSc Cancer Biology and Immunology at Bristol was a great experience and much more than I could have ever imagined. I was challenged, supported, given opportunities to grow and I’ve made lifelong friends; 3 years of my life that I’ll never forget.”

What were the staff like?

“Tutors and Lecturers were incredibly passionate about their fields and teaching, which made it all easier. The staff within the school and beyond were always willing to help and offer advice and guidance. When applying for graduate courses, they wrote me personalised references and assisted with interview prep.”

How did your degree influence what you went on to next?

“My degree allowed me to tailor my course to my interest especially with the flexibility I had when deciding my final year modules. I developed a keen interest in the intersection between cancer biology and immunology during a research internship I undertook during my course. I am currently studying a degree in Medicine at the University of Oxford and hope to merge my interests once I complete it.”
