Get involved
Find out how you can get involved and make a difference to the University of Bristol community.
Why volunteer?
Volunteering is an opportunity to strengthen the University of Bristol community by giving back. As a volunteer you can share your experience with current students and recent graduates. You can also help alumni connect with each other by holding reunions and establishing alumni networks.

Welcome international students
Bristol Voices pairs local alumni volunteers with international students, helping to welcome and support them as they settle into life at the University, in a new city and culture. Alumni can offer local advice, guidance and encouragement, while the students can share their own culture and experiences with the volunteer.
Connect with your community
If you are interested in organising a reunion or social event for alumni, you may be able to apply for an Alumni Association Initiative Grant to help with funding.
We also have a number of well-established alumni-led networks and groups around the world - such as branches in cities, hall associations and alumni sports clubs - which always welcome new members.
Volunteer at employability events
Throughout the year we have opportunities for alumni to get involved and volunteer their time at a range of events which support student and graduate employability. This could be digital or in-person sessions such as open days, talks or interviews. You can choose what type of events you are interested in supporting and a member of staff will then be in touch when opportunities arise.
