Overseas groups

The University currently has over 19,614 alumni living overseas in 179 countries worldwide.

University of Bristol alumni groups overseas offer a range of activities from social events, both formal and informal, to gatherings with an academic focus which may involve University staff who are travelling abroad. If you are an alumnus/a working abroad a local group is an excellent way to meet knew people who will share a common bond. For those returning overseas having studied at Bristol, an alumni group helps maintain friendships and links with the University.

Alumni groups (sometimes referred to as Branches of Convocation) have been established in the following countries:

Forthcoming events for all alumni groups are listed at events and reunions. If you would like to get involved or make contact with a group in your area, please contact the 'Volunteers Manager' at alumni@bristol.ac.uk.

We are always looking for volunteers to help establish alumni groups in their area. This does not need to be an onerous task and the Alumni Relations team will help with administrative aspects of organisation. If this is of interest, please contact 'Volunteers Manager' at alumni@bristol.ac.uk.

Our colleagues in the International Recruitment Office travel overseas frequently, and like to take the opportunity to meet alumni. They will normally contact established groups at the planning stage of their trips, but if you are elsewhere and would like to be in touch, please visit their schedule of overseas visits to check the countries they are visiting.
