Cambridge Branch Annual Dinner

20 October 2018, 7.00 PM - 20 October 2018, 11.00 PM

Trinity College Cambridge, CB2 1TQ

Alumni and friends are invited to the ninth Annual Dinner of the Cambridge Branch to meet old friends and new in the impressive surroundings of Trinity College.

The college was founded by Henry VIII in 1546. With most major buildings dating from the 16th and 17th centuries it attracts visitors and students from across the world. This is an exclusive venue not normally available to the public and dinner will be held in the Old Kitchen, a historic room hung with oil paintings, with a high beamed ceiling.

One of the architectural gems of Trinity is the seventeenth century Wren Library. It houses many treasures, both manuscripts and printed books, ancient and modern. There will be a tour of the stunning interior and a presentation of selected books by the Librarian, Dr Nicolas Bell, from 6 pm.

A wine reception will begin at 7 pm, followed by a three-course dinner and an after-dinner speech. This year we are delighted to welcome from the University of Bristol Denis Burn, Chair of the Board of Trustees and therefore very well placed to explain recent changes in governance and reflect on the challenges facing the University.

Cambridge is beautiful in the autumn and the dinner is set to be yet another enjoyable evening, so do book soon to avoid disappointment.

Dress code Smart (lounge suits), dinner jackets optional.
