Bristol Connects Live: Nonclinical careers in healthcare

Join fellow Bristol graduates for an online panel discussion about their careers working in Nonclinical careers in healthcare roles on Tuesday 27 April 2021, 2 pm - 3 pm BST. 

This online panel event will provide you with career insights from alumni working in the sector and will give you the opportunity to ask your questions to our alumni experts. Book your place to join us.

We are delighted to announce our panellists:

Liberty Dixon (BSc Biochemistry 2012), Public Health Reform for the Department of Health and Social Care                                                              Liberty has worked for the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry as a Policy Officer before working as a Sales and Innovative Channels Executive for AstraZeneca. After leaving, Liberty continued as a Policy Officer at the Academy of Medical Sciences before working in the Department for International Trade, as Senior Private Secretary to the Chief Scientific Advisor. Since then Liberty has moved to the Department of Health and Social Care, initially working as Head of Testing Policy for COVID-19, before working in Public Health Reform. 

Monira Ahmend Chowdhury (MSc Policy Studies 1998), Head of EDI & NBT& FRSA for the North Bristol NHS Trust                                                                                      Monira is currently the Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at North Bristol NHS Trust. In her previous role, as director of Bath and north-east Somerset racial equality council, she was responsible for setting up partnerships with police and local authorities to tackle racial harassment. She then became a director for Black Development Agency, supporting Black & Minority Ethnic Communities and groups. Since then she has worked for Bristol City Council as a Policy and Equalities Manager and a Strategic Services Manager.

Annie Avery (BA Hons Philosophy 2016), Graduate Management Trainee for the NHS                                                                                                                                        Annie is currently working as a Support Manager in Gastroenterology at the Royal United Hospital as part of the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme. Before working for the NHS Annie worked in events, marketing and as a programme coordinator for the Bristol Students Union. After graduating, Annie worked for Teach First as a Brand Manager.

 

All alumni are welcome to join, however, please note that this event may be more suitable for recent graduates or those looking for new career opportunities.
