About the Academic Registry

The Academic Registry, headed up by Dr Robert Partridge, the Academic Registrar, is one of the administrative service divisions of the University of Bristol. It comprises:

• The Academic Registrar's Office (The Academic Registrar and his support staff);
• The Education Support Unit (which provides a range of support for new and established members of academic staff involved in teaching, supporting student learning, and assessment);
• The Student Administration Team (including responsibility for registering students, timetabling, student filing, the Student Funding Office, Examinations and Higher Degrees Office, and the Student Systems & Information Office).

• A new division (Student Recruitment, Access and Admissions) has been formed under the leadership of Angela Milln, with responsibility for student recruitment, widening participation and undergraduate admissions;
• Responsibility for the 'Senate Secretariat' function has been transferred to the 'Strategic Planning and Projects' division.

Both Angela and Robert report to Lynn Robinson, Deputy Registrar (Education and Students), who is also the ‘owner’ of the education and students process.

Robert is currently working with Lynn and his two section heads (Jayne Storey and Kit Leighton-Kelly) to define priorities for the Academic Registry over the next two years.  These include the acceleration of the SITS programme and a review of quality assurance processes.
