University Secretary's Office

The Secretary’s Office provides a wide range of advice and support on legal and compliance issues to all academic and professional departments of the University. The Office is also responsible for drafting and implementing revisions to the University’s Charter and Statutes and other policies, procedures and regulations.

The Office’s responsibilities include work in the areas of property and commercial law, employment law, intellectual property, insurance, risk management, data protection, freedom of information, staff and student mediation and dispute resolution, appeals and discipline. The Secretary’s Office comprises professional staff, including twenty Lawyers, the Information Compliance Manager and Data Protection Officer, the Student Complaints and Mediation Manager, four Student Case Officers and associated support staff.
